About the Vietnam Retailers Association (AVR)

The Vietnam Retailers Association, founded in 2007, is a national social and professional organization composed of Vietnamese retail enterprises, relevant institutions and industry practitioners. As of October 2025, the association has approximately 111 member units, covering all formats including supermarkets, shopping malls, chain retail, convenience stores, e-commerce, consumer goods distribution and retail services.

AVR has long been committed to safeguarding the rights and interests of retail enterprises, promoting cooperation between manufacturers and distributors, providing market and policy information, and advancing the modernization and sustainable development of Vietnam's retail sector through activities such as forums, training, trade promotion and international cooperation, thus enjoying extensive influence and industry appeal in Vietnam's retail and distribution field.

During the meeting, Mr. Binu Pillai elaborated on MEORIENT's global exhibition layout, overseas exhibition organization experience and advantages in Chinese supply chain resources, and highlighted the core role of exhibitions in boosting international trade and business matchmaking. Mr. Binu Pillai stated that MEORIENT regards the Hanoi Exhibition as a key strategic project to deepen its presence in the Vietnamese market, aiming to connect Chinese manufacturing enterprises with Vietnamese retailers, importers, distributors and procurement heads to build an efficient and direct trade docking platform. Chairperson Tran Thi Phuong Lan highly recognized MEORIENT's choice of Hanoi as the venue for the exhibition, pointing out that Vietnam's retail market is at a critical stage of rapid development, transformation and upgrading, and the association looks forward to building a direct and efficient connection bridge between high-quality Chinese products and Vietnamese retail channels through this exhibition.

The two sides held in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation matters and reached a number of cooperation consensuses. MEORIENT officially invited the chairman of the association to attend the opening ceremony of HOMELIFE Hanoi, Vietnam, and invited the association to organize member enterprises and professional purchasers to visit and make purchases at the exhibition. In addition, the two parties will jointly hold a Vietnam retail industry forum, focusing on hot topics such as retail market trends, Consumption Upgrade and channel docking, organize B2B precise matching between association members and VIP exhibitors of HOMELIFE Vietnam Exhibition, and arrange VIP exhibitors to visit the Vietnam Retailers Association before the exhibition for in-depth exchanges with association principals and core member enterprises to learn about local Market Access requirements and cooperation opportunities in advance.

MEORIENT stated that it will take this cooperation as an opportunity to establish a long-term strategic partnership with AVR in areas including member invitation, industry forums, business matching and mutual enterprise visits. AVR has expressed active support for this initiative and appointed Ms. Trinh Thi Hong Loan, Director of the Association Office, as the lead contact for the cooperation between the two sides to coordinate and advance work such as member invitation, forum organization, business matching and pre-exhibition enterprise visits, so as to ensure the efficient implementation of all cooperation initiatives.

Currently, Vietnam is at a critical stage of Consumption Upgrade and retail channel transformation. As the Vietnamese middle class continues to grow and urbanization accelerates, the scale of the retail market keeps expanding, and the pace of transformation from traditional retail to modern retail has picked up noticeably.

As the capital and second-largest city of Vietnam, Hanoi is not only the country's political and cultural center, but also a commercial hub and consumption engine in northern Vietnam, with a retail network spanning multiple surrounding provinces. The debut of HOMELIFE Hanoi, Vietnam will provide an efficient and convenient channel for Chinese manufacturing enterprises to directly connect with Vietnamese retailers and access the consumer market in northern Vietnam.

Moving forward, HOMELIFE will continue to work hand in hand with more Vietnamese partners, further improve the organizer system for purchasers, and facilitate deeper cooperation between Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises in such fields as economy and trade, industry and supply chain, so as to contribute to advancing China-Vietnam economic and trade exchanges and regional trade development.
