As a natural hub connecting the North American and Latin American markets, Mexico has been exerting an increasingly strong consumer appeal in recent years. Statistics show that Mexico's urbanization rate has exceeded 80%, and its large and continuously expanding urban middle-class families are driving the overall upgrading of lifestyle consumption in categories such as home furnishings, gifts, and outdoor leisure. Meanwhile, the purchasing power of the minimum wage has cumulatively increased by over 150% compared to 2018, and the minimum wage will rise by another 13% in January 2026, further boosting residents' consumption capacity.

The consumer side is also demonstrating strong vitality. In November and December 2025, retail sales rose by 4.4% and 4.3% year-on-year respectively, marking eight consecutive months of positive growth; among which, health and personal care, home furnishing and home decoration sectors took the lead in growth, while e-commerce and catalog sales surged by 20.7% year-on-year. Coupled with the tourism, catering and retail consumption dividend brought by the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Mexico is accelerating its transformation from a "Latin American consumer market" into a "key springboard for Chinese enterprises to connect with the Latin American market".

On the first day of the event, what drew particular attention was that the three major zones of gifts, outdoor leisure, and household daily necessities became the crowd hotspots at the venue. From festive gifting to outdoor sports, from household cleaning to insulated drinkware and kitchenware — behind these diverse consumption scenarios, what is reflected is exactly the consumption changes taking place in the Mexico market, which fully confirms the high alignment between Chinese manufacturing and Mexico's consumption hotspots.
Gift Zone: Booming festive consumption drives explosive demand for cultural gifts
From the Day of the Dead to Christmas, the festive spirit is deeply ingrained in the DNA of Mexicans — the market for gifts and handicrafts is enormous, and cultural flair, design sensibility and customization capabilities are the three keys to securing orders. The pottery, enamel, paper handicrafts, aromatherapy and other products brought by Liling Xinkai Craft, Yiwu Meixnong Handicrafts and Huizhou Zhengming Technology, with their strong folk style and customization capabilities, precisely cater to Mexican families' preference for home ambiance and gift sets, and the on-site samples were repeatedly requested in bulk.

Outdoor Leisure Section: The boom in sports and outdoor activities is surging, with tents and fitness equipment becoming hot-selling items
With its warm climate and a prevailing culture of outdoor activities and sports lifestyle, Mexico has seen a continuous surge in demand for outdoor gear driven by scenarios such as camping, football, skateboarding, surfing and fitness. The outdoor section was packed with crowds right on its opening day. The tents and dive bags showcased by Suzhou Ruoqi Intelligent, Jiangsu Heyiyuan, Suzhou Home & Home Furnishing and Hangzhou Faveil Industrial, which are lightweight, durable and quick to set up, have attracted a large number of camping supplies distributors to stop by and make inquiries.

Home & Daily Necessaries Zone: Inelastic demand upgrade, with thermal insulation, storage and cleaning categories in full swing
Home daily necessities represent a consumption category driven by inelastic demand for households in Mexico. As living conditions improve and lifestyles upgrade, consumer demand for high-quality, well-designed daily essentials has grown markedly. The cleaning supplies from Jinhua Senmei Home Furnishing and Zhejiang Zhenghong Kitchenware, the vacuum flasks/insulated cups brought by Hangzhou Tianye, Zhejiang Linghong, Wuyi Sisheng, Yiwu Gangjiang and other suppliers, as well as the cutlery sets from Guangzhou Tiande — a trifecta of cost-effectiveness, premium quality and practicality — perfectly address all the pain points that Mexican households face when making purchases.
